QIF allows import of all accounts within a single QIF file, any exported list, and transactions into individual asset and loan accounts (including house and vehicle) and cash accounts. If you've purchased Quicken Home & Business, you can export business lists (the Invoice Items List and the Business Templates List). In addition, you can export the Account List, Category List, memorized payees (the Memorized Payee List), and security lists (the Security List and the Security Prices List). Transactions are exported for a specified date range. QIF allows export of transactions for all accounts within a single QIF file or a single account. Quicken Interchange Format (QIF) files are specially formatted text files that are made up of lists of QIF items that describe accounts, transactions within those accounts, lists that you want to export, and options that you can include.
